Dirty Grandpa (2016)





It is a comedy starring Zac Efron and Robert De Niro. In the particular scene a group of hippies play with a footbag, a contact ball and a devilstick. Here is a twitter message with a still shot too.

Brandy who writes out a sex to do list for herself for the summer sets her sights on Rusty Waters as the ultimate end goal. He happens to be not just sexy and popular but also a devilstick player.


Berlin calling (2008)





The devilstick appears in two scenes. In the first one, a man holds it in his hands, in the second one, he also plays with it.

Two Weeks Notice (2002)



In this scene, the two main characters (Sandra Bullock and Hugh Grant) meets on a ball. The woman walks past a man in a purple shirt and hat who entertains the participants of the elegant party with a colorful conical devil stick.


Mission Impossible 2 (2000)



In the end scene, Ethan (Tom Cruise) meets his love in a busy park in Sydney where jugglers perform in the background: two of them pass fire torches and a girl twirls fire devilsticks in isolation style.


A Dog of Flanders (1999)





The poor, orphan boy and his love watch the circus artists. One of them plays with a fire devilstick.


Point of No Return (1993)



The main character (Bridget Fonda) in Venice Beach, California goes home. She walks past jugglers on the busy beach. There's a man playing the devilstick and another with clubs. (at 56:45)


Nightmare in the Daylight (1992)






The son of the main character in a park admires a juggler who plays with a firestick. His father takes a video of the show and gives money to the boy to throw it to the hat of the performer. Heeey, bravooo!


Arabian Adventure (1979)



The boy with the monkey arrives at the city and meets street performers who blow fire and play with balls, juggling knives, diabolo, and devilstick.


Man on a Tightrope (1953)





The main character struggles to keep the Circus Cernik together in the communist regime. When he is ordered to dismiss foreign members of his troop, he had no choice but escape to the West. In the above-linked scenes, the soldiers have fun watching the circus acts including devilsticking as well.

In this episode, we see Eric first meet Tim (Q) while he plays with devilsticks. The two become fast friends, Q changes his name to Tim and they attempt to launch a website.

Tabu LifeOn - Kordonok között (Cordoned-off) (2018)





This documentary presents and explains the state and rights of the LGBTQI people in Hungary. It uses some footage of the Budapest Pride March where a girl - in "Feminist Badass" T-shirt - played with a hula hoop and another - with "Equality" inscription - spun a flowerstick.


Our Secret World: Circus Kids (s01 e03) (2017)


This revealing documentary series of Channel 5 (UK) provides an honest insight into the world of circus kids. One of the kids performed with tennis rackets and for a short time he juggled one as it was a devilstick.

Free Tekno (2011)

Free Tekno is a journey into the underground of illegal underground tekno festivals in central Europe. The crew travel with a group of Dutch and Irish boys who throw illegal rave parties in the forests of Germany and Czech Republic and gain access to an underground that many have heard of but few have seen.


How drugs work - Cannabis (2011)

BCC series which examines the effects of drugs. A cannabis-user boy takes a devilstick to the woods which can be seen several times during the documentary. At the end, he plays with sticks (56:07-56:20).

Documentary about the New Age Traveller scene in the UK.


Juggling Life (2007)



An award-winning teacher, a college student with an amazing talent for juggling, and a young woman on a mission to make a difference, run the New Jersey is Beautiful Juggling Program. The kids featured in this 27-minute film are learning how to juggle to put on a charity show for a camp for children with cancer.


Streetwise (1984)



At the beginning of the documentary about Seattle teenagers living on the street, a man plays the devilstick. He shows an under-the-leg transfer.

It is a song about how professional jugglers are often mistaken for clowns. The music video contains many archive footage, one of them includes Tony Pezzo making tricks with a devilstick and three handsticks.

Belgian band with wild Eastern European partying: loud music and fire jugglers - including some ball jugglers, poi spinners, torch passing guys, staff spinners, a fire eater, and a man who was devilsticking with a red and white striped stick (on the right side) - in an old factory building.


Toy Soldiers: Tell The Teller (2014)



After moving into a new studio called Meth Beach, the band shot a video of all of them playing with devilsticks for the upcoming music video during a party they had at the space.

The guest of this Hungarian Talk Show was Péter Scherer, a popular movie, television and theater actor who showed his juggling skills to the audience. He tossed 3 balls - and even performed some partner juggling -, 3 clubs and did devilstick tricks as well. He used these skills earlier at a theatre play called "Blue, blue, blue" where he rode a unicycle too.

This TV show is the Spanish version of the "Who is Still Standing?". Carmen, one of the contestants, rapped her own song while she was playing with devilsticks.


The Amazing Race Canada (s01e09) (2013)





In this episode the teams were instructed to busk for $50 on the street. They could choose props from a musical instrument shop that also sold juggling equipments. Dave performed devilstick tricks but was not as successful to gather the money as the other couples.
